The cliffs of Los Gigantes drop nearly 600 metres straight into the Atlantic, a rampart the island's Guanche inhabitants once named the Muralla del Infierno, the Wall of Hell.
Basalt columns, cooled from ancient Teno volcanic flows, form the western edge of Tenerife and mark the mouth of a channel that has shaped this coast for millennia.

The village grew slowly through the 1960s and 1970s as northern Europeans discovered the mild leeward climate, yet the marina has kept the low, whitewashed scale of its origins.
Context matters more than spectacle on this stretch of water. The cetaceans are wild and unfed, and their presence depends on a channel that stays clean and quiet.
